Ordering Pizza in the Future
This is video about Ordering Pizza in the Future.
Though it was posted a long time ago, it is still quite creepy viewing it now…
However, I won’t be surprised if such things were to happen in the near future… With people giving out so much information on Social Networking websites (sometimes road-side surveys when we aren’t thinking), such things may not be very far-fetched…
So hope this won’t happen and just get creep out now first eh?
Bowled over technique
Haha.. This two posts has been on videos.
Anyway, was talking to my friend over MSN and she brought my attention to this video… Its about a 7 year old Japanese kid who defeats a professional bowler on a bowling split conversion match…
I was a little surprised to find the kid carrying out a 15 pound ball though.. (15 pounds = 6.80388555 kilograms)
Reunion with a Lion…
Some entertainment….
The video below is a footage from a documentary about a lion named Christian. It was raised by two people, who released it into the African wild…. The video shows the part where the duo went back to see Christian again after a while…
UPDATE: The video was updated to another link… The old video link is shown below.

The Day The Routers Died…
Found this video on youtube.
It was a song performed by the secret-wg in the closing plenary of the RIPE 55 conference.
I found it quite hilarious….
The lyrics are as follows….. (more…)
Taiwan Celebrities commenting on Singaporean English
(POST UPDATED: Tuesday, Feburary 10. 2008)
First it was comments on our mandarin by the Chinese in China and now our English is also the “talk of the town”?
While I would hesitate to say that they were criticizing our language after viewing the video, I also can’t call the show a discussion either due to the absence of a Singaporean in the show line-up. Its a very one-sided discussion with little or no basis and engagement.
While its true that many Singaporeans don’t speak queen’s English or even concise/precise English. However, over-generalizing isn’t healthy. Sure its entertaining, but it is also a form of defamation and quite derogatory. If they were to say that many Singaporeans speak that way, I understand. But to target all Singaporeans is not right.
They aren’t researchers into literary, nor have they looked into our cultural aspects and living environment. Clearly, these are just mindless attacks on our culture.
The English language mutates and changes over time. The dictionary evolve from year to year. From the Shakespearean time to now, the language has evolved. With so much diversity in Singaporean society, I don’t think it is possible for every single person, every single citizen from so many different races and also backgrounds, in a country with 4 or more official languages can reach the same standards as another country like America with only one official language.
What I said above are only personal opinions and first impressions after watching the video. Anyone is free to disagree. But I still feel that there is too little thought put into the show.
However, I do not deny that it has most probably achieved its goal of stirring sentiments and discussions on the topic.
For those interested, here’s the video I found on Youtube:

UPDATE:
Looks like someone posted another video in response to the above video on Youtube….
